Garage Gear, Sort of,,,,,

I have another interest,  i built an electric Spitfire rc model, a wee while ago now, my plan is to learn through a club how to fly it now, all i need is a speed controller, battery and charger.

I have a Ripmax Skysport 6 with trainer facility, my plan is to find a local club and be shown whats what, and hopefully use my electronics background to instal some extras in it, gyro, landing gear etc.

and i really should get a better hat.

  1. Hi Steve

Looks like your going to be busy with the restoration and well done for having the balls.Anyway save your Spit from a nasty end after only a few minutes flying. Buy as i did and learn on a J.P.Prangster trainer. Almost indestructable i have buried mine in the ground from blinding heights more times than i care to remember and you can fix it back together on the spot for more fun.Cost approx £70.Im looking at buying a GT just now cos sick of modern motoring.

    Bill in Ayrshire.

  2. will have a look at that bill, understand these models are hard to learn on, may buy a wee high wing artf to start with.makes more sense, wee boy is 6 so keen to get him into the Rc stuff.

sorry for slow response, working in aberdeen just now. Ford focus i use is boring, so i know where you are coming from.

  3. Hello Sreve
I hope all is going well with the restoration. I bought the mgb after all. Its a 1971 GT with the semi-Sebring look. Its used as a daily driver and as a result has helped bring all the hidden mix of mechanical and electrical faults out which i am rectifying as they occur.Good thing is you can do it without the need for a fault code reader.
    All the best.

    Bill.
